Step 1: Applying to your University of Choice

Step 2: Receiving a COE:

If you are chosen by the University, they will send you a CoE (Confirmation of Enrollment) which is your approval to apply for a student Visa in Australia. 

Step 3: Applying for Visa Online

Visit the Australian Government Immigration website and create an ImmiAccount. This is the online portal that helps you access the magic of student visa application. 

Documents you will need for visa application are-

• CoE from university
• Proof of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
• Original and Valid Passport
• Proof of Temporary Stay (in this you have to stay you will stay in Australia only for Study Purpose).

Step 4: Submitting Visa Fee

You have to pay a visa fee which is currently $575. This money will not be refunded if your visa is rejected for any reason. That is why it is always necessary to give proper information and be extra cautious while applying online. After submitting your application, you will receive a TRN (Transaction Reference Number). You should save this number if you are applying online. With this number you can track your visa processing.

Step 5: Possible Health Check Up

Sometimes you may have to do a complete medical check up before an interview. This health check up can include report of X-ray, Covid Test, Vaccination for influenza etc. 

Step 6: Visa Processing Time

Visa Processing time generally depends on a number of factors, 

• whether you have submitted the form correctly
• Whether Australian Immigration Authority is busy
• Whether All documents have been submitted etc.

There can be a delay or rejection in visa if the application process is not done correctly. If everything is okay, you are expected to receive your visa within a couple of weeks.

Step 7: Receiving and Printing your Visa

Once your student visa application has been processed, you will receive an email notification. Your visa is an electronic visa, so you should print your visa grant letter and keep it with your passport when you arrive in Australia.
